Middleburg Heights Community Recreation Center

Working with city officials and resident committees, Bowen + Associates and The Sports Management Group created detailed layouts of all sports, recreation, and gathering areas so that the design reflected community desires.

The Community Recreation Center provides a focal point for the city, anchoring the west end of the municipal campus (city hall, police and fire). The Center is adjacent to existing city-owned outdoor sports fields that were tied to the campus plan with a new gazebo/public pavilion near the fields. A new Veterans Memorial was created in a park-like setting in front of the Recreation Center.

The facility includes an indoor recreation pool, outdoor pool, two-court gymnasium, walk/jog track, fitness center, community hall, activity/event rooms, and a child care room. The Center is designed to enhance the quality of life for Middleburg Heights residents with a family-oriented, social gathering place, and indoor and outdoor sports programs.
