Bowen renovated the 23,000 SF two-story Crile Building and surrounding site to accommodate a new Public Safety Training Center. Bowen created a two-phase master plan for the building and surrounding site.
Phase 1 included building and classroom renovations, as well as the addition of training features. The former Crile building now boasts college classrooms with state-of-the-art technology, offices, and simulation labs. Two additions accommodate a firing range and a gymnasium. New training features include: a 2-story burn building; a propane-fueled burn pad; a wood-framed pavilion; a military-style fitness and obstacle course area; and a driver training pad. After the successful completion of Phase 1, Bowen worked with the college to develop concept drawings and a new program. These materials were used to secure Phase 2 funding.
